Automatic Aluminum Billet Stacking & Unstacking System
The automatic aluminum billet stacking & unstacking system is designed for automated handling, stacking, unstacking, and storage of aluminum billets after homogenization. The system integrates overhead crane handling, a stacking manipulator, conveying equipment, spacer positioning, and electrical controls to automate billet transfer from homogenizing furnace discharge through layer-by-layer stacking and storage.

- Finished billet transfer and storage
- Automatic transfer of completed billet stacks
- Automatic, manual, and remote operating modes available
- Billets are transferred from the homogenizing furnace area
- The overhead crane lifts and positions the billets for stacking
- The stacking manipulator grips and positions the billets automatically
- Billets are stacked layer by layer according to the required arrangement
- Spacer bars are automatically placed between billet layers
- Completed billet stacks are transferred to the storage area
- The system resets for the next stacking cycle
The automatic billet stacking and unstacking system is suitable for:
- Aluminum billet homogenizing lines
- Aluminum extrusion billet production lines
- Aluminum casting and billet storage systems
- Large-scale aluminum processing plants
Conventional billet-handling processes can present several operational challenges in aluminum plants, including:
- High labor intensity during billet handling
- Inconsistent stacking quality
- Safety risks during overhead crane operation
- Low storage efficiency
- Billet damage during material handling
- Inefficient material flow from the homogenizing furnace
Huitai’s automatic billet stacking system integrates billet handling, positioning, stacking, spacer placement, transfer, and storage to address these challenges within one automated system.
Equipment is configured around the customer’s production requirements, plant layout and existing line, with installation, commissioning and technical support provided according to the project scope.
